Our Origin Story

Akimbo was born right here in Canada, out of a simple but powerful frustration: why was it so hard to find boxing gear that combined performance-level quality, affordable pricing, and sleek design all in one place?

Our founder, a long-time boxing coach and former amateur fighter, decided it was time to raise the bar. After years of watching athletes struggle with poorly constructed gloves, weak wrist support, and cheap materials, he launched Akimbo Boxing with a bold mission: create pro-grade gear that’s tough enough for the gym, trusted by trainers, and accessible to fighters at every level.
